National Heavy Haulage was founded in 1983 by Kevin Soal. Kevin has many years of experience in the heavy haulage industry, including 36 years experience in transporting Powertech (ABB) transformers for Eskom as well as other special contracts, such as Swazi Sugar, DHL, DSV and others. This experience, along with our dedicated team, means that all our clients can expect a high level of efficiency when it comes to their haulage needs
Our operations team is managed by Sam Makhubele who has over 36 years of experience in the transport industry. Sam worked with Lehembecker's Transport for 22 years, owned his own business and has been with NHH since 2000.
Lampie Groblen is our Operations Manager for all abnormal loads. Lampie joined our company in 2016.
The average age of our long distance trucks is 4 years. In order to ensure that our client's heavy loads get there on time, we have our own in-house workshop run by our highly qualified staff. Preventative maintenance schedules are followed on all of our vehicles, including Certificates of Fitness. All of our trucks are taken off the road at 800 000 km and all the components are checked. Our entire fleet undergoes a full inspection at least once a month.
In order to ensure that your normal, heavy and abnormal loads get to where they need to be safely, all of our drivers undergo proper driver training. Due to this, NHH has a low accident record.
Over the years, National Heavy Haulage has undertaken many major transport and specialised projects. We have also been the Transport Manager for the SASOL Petroleum project in Temane, Mozambique. We oversaw all abnormal transport, Rig moves and Mob and Demob in 2003/2004 & 2008.
